I have bought and sold 8 homes in my life and have never had such a great realtor. Colin arranged for contractors to meet us at the house all at the same time to get multiple bids for flooring and painting. He also arranged for estate sale companies to meet with us all on the same day and timeframe. It was so convenient. We never even had to list the house in the multiple listings as he had a buyer as soon as other realtors knew it was about to be listed. He even arranged to have the home staged which is why we got top dollar. Colin is also a very nice person and professional. He kept in touch with us on a regular basis. I would give him ten stars if that was an option.

I have not used Colin as a real estate agent, but this review will make you want to for yourself. During a very stressful time in my life, a move going on along with other major difficulties, I loaded a pod outside where I was staying. I did not get the latch set properly. So the lock was not preventing the latch from moving and the door being opened. The company's policy is to not remove the pod if it is not locked. Colin noticed this as he was involved with the sale of the home I lived in. He saved me from serious lag time in getting the pod rescheduled. Thank you, Colin. Going out of your way when it did nothing to benefit you was a big showing of how great your character is. I owe you!

Our home search started in September of 2021, and after a year of putting in offers on homes all over Orange County, we were still searching. In December of 2022, our good friends successfully purchased a home in a very competitive market (San Clemente) with a realtor, Colin Farris. As a resident of San Clemente, it is almost inevitable that we know a number of real estate agents, several of whom I consider to be great individuals and talented at what they do. So how do you choose? In our case, Colin introduced himself to my wife and I more than 7 years ago when he had sold a home in our neighborhood, and I immediately had the impression that he was a serious and knowledgeable person - and a good guy as well. As explained in an earlier review, Colin Farris helped us find our ‘forever’ home and now it was time to sell our existing home of 33 years. After working with Colin for over a year, we felt no one was more qualified to help us sell our family home. Because he is a highly knowledgeable real estate agent and keenly aware of the local market in Costa Mesa, we valued his suggestions on changes and upgrades that would make our home more attractive to potential buyers. He made great recommendations on contractors, staging and was there every step of the way during the upgrading process. We decided to purchase a second home out of state to be near our daughter and son-in-law. They had referred us to Colin whom they had recently purchased a house from! We had briefly met him during their purchase and we were wanting to use him for our townhouse hunt as well! Colin exceeded all expectations and went above and beyond in every way! I had to travel from Arizona and he transported me to and from the airport and set aside the whole day to explore the area (south Orange County) and see several houses. Colin makes time for his clients. He never makes you feel rushed. You never walk away from a conversation feeling unsure. He is very protective and manages the transaction with confidence. All of these traits are critical, because with the wrong agent, real estate deals can go south very quickly. In 2016 we sold our home, time was of the essence and we didn’t use Colin and it was the worst decision we made. Even though he wasn’t our agent, he maintained communication throughout the transaction and helped us protect ourselves. Fast forward one year, we were now ready to buy our perfect house. Although I had purchased several homes in the past 20 years, I explained to Colin that I needed a lot of help because this was the first time I would be purchasing a home for myself, by myself, as I had lost my husband a year ago. I recommend Colin Farris without qualification. This past summer I had to sell my home in Pasadena due to a failed marriage. However, the circumstances did not dissuade my realtor Colin Farris. He handled my ex wife’s and my concerns in a very thoughtful manner and facilitated a constructive dialogue between the two of us. As with any time someone finds they have to sell their home due to an unplanned life change, there is a concern of very costly loss. However, due to Colin’s thorough research and market positioning, he was able to get two buyers to compete for our home. As a result of Colin’s strategic negotiations, we ultimately sold our home for list price; obtained a free 20-day rent back after the close of escrow and didn’t credit any money to the buyer though our home had $14,940 in section 1 termite damage. Moreover, when the buyer’s lender failed to close escrow on time, Colin negotiated a $125 per diem (paid by the buyer) in order to cover our unanticipated principle, taxes and insurance costs that came when escrow was delayed. Bought our home SIGHT-UNSEEN! Since we don't live in the area, our daughter had first contact with Colin at an open house. He was the first agent that treated her with respect & unlike others was very professional. Other agents did not want to take the time to find out what our needs were because they thought she was not the decision maker. Little did they know that she was our decision maker!
